“Mabuhay! Where can your next journey take you?”
Two sliding doors open up, and visitors step into the introduction space of the Philippines Pavilion.
Colourful and transparent threads hang from the ceiling- it is like walking into a loom.

The "Introduction Space" is a media installation that consists of vibrant projections on transparent threads. These colourful animations are designed to highlight the cultural and ecological diversity of the Philippines.
The immersive experience is enhanced through a synchronised voiceover and soundtrack that complement the visuals.

the process
With the design team, we created and refined the narrative of the projections, developing storyboards that detailed both the guest's journey and the animation sequence. I built and worked with an in-house prototype to test and improve the visuals and the guest journey. I conducted a study of the user flow to gain insights into the interactions within the environment. Using two projectors, I mapped and developed animations in TouchDesigner to create the visual content, synchronising it with the audio elements to enrich the storytelling.
The final AV consists of projectors, speakers, and show-controlled lights.

Over the past year and a half, I have been designing, prototyping, and shaping the experience of the Netherlands Pavilion, which opened in April 2025 at the Osaka World Expo.

As a designer and creative technologist, I was involved in the creative process, the development of the user journey, and the prototyping of interactive installations.

This includes the behaviors and interactions of the Energy Orb with guests, the charging station for check-in, the initial studies for the water basin, the journey through the dynamic water walls on the ramps, and the Pledge Station mirror.
